Shiro Miso
Moromi Shiro Miso is a light, sweet variety of miso popular in Kyoto, Japan. We select only organic rice and soybeans for our miso and source our tane-koji directly from Japan. Our koji is grown with care on medium grain organic rice to produce a wonderful, sweet rice koji with a subtle flowery bouquet. Our rice koji is then blended with steamed organic soybeans and sea salt and packed for aging.
Shiro Miso can be used as a marinade for fish, pork, lamb or try marinating your favorite vegetables for a few hours. Enhance dressings, spreads, and dips to add sweet umami notes with a touch of tartness. The combined sweet/umami flavor of Shiro Miso is a great way to add additional layers of flavor to all types of baked goods from breads, to cakes, cookies, and pies.
Packaged in a convenient 8 oz stand-up pouch. Please refrigerate upon receiving. Miso is crafted at room temperature and is a live, unpasteurized ferment. It will last for months in the refrigerator. We don’t ship miso during the hot summer months of June/July/Aug.
